如何確定什麼創造無意義字符

我想確定是什麼原因造成這樣的錯誤：

Transaction Error! 
    There was a problem with the transaction. 
    The credit card information was initially accepted but an auto void has been placed because of a system error. 

    Please contact the association. 

    The site administrator has been notified of the error. 
    The value u^m cannot be converted to a number. 

這是信用卡付款的處理過程中發生的事情。

有沒有辦法知道轉換到u^M或反之亦然？例如％20轉換爲空格。
