sudo apt-get install libmysqlclient-dev

如果這還不夠嘗試像這樣

sudo apt-get install libmysqlclient-dev libmysqlclient16 ruby-dev

你應該做的錯誤消息告訴你：檢查mkmf.log ！使用find /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/ -name mkmf.log搜索此文件。通常，出現此錯誤消息是因爲您忘記爲要安裝的擴展程序安裝-dev軟件包。所以如果你想安裝mysql gem，你可能忘了先安裝libmysqlclient14-dev。做一個apt-cache搜索| grep dev找到合適的軟件包。

試試這個，然後再安裝mysql的寶石：

命令和apt-get安裝的libmysqlclient-dev的libmysqlclient16

這之後再運行工作sudo gem安裝mysql。

文檔仍然不能正確安裝（「無定義」錯誤堆，雖然那不是一個真正的大問題。
